About Fall Creek Vineyards

ESTABLISHED 1975
TRUE TEXAS WINE PIONEERS

Fall Creek Vineyards was founded by Ed and Susan Auler, Texas cattle ranchers who discovered a passion for wine during a trip to France. Recognizing the Texas Hill Country’s similarities to European wine regions, they planted their first vineyard, which grew from 1/4 acre to 7 1/2 acres. Named after nearby Fall Creek Falls, the winery embraces a site-specific philosophy and focuses on varietals like Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, Grenache, and Tempranillo. As Texas wine pioneers, the Aulers helped elevate the state's wine reputation.

On the winery's 50th anniversary, Fall Creek Vineyards announced an exciting new chapter: the transition of ownership to Sergio Cuadra, the winery’s former Director of Winemaking. With years of expertise and a deep appreciation for Texas terroir, Sergio brings a passionate commitment to crafting exceptional wines. He is thrilled and honored to carry forward the legacy built by the Aulers and is energized to lead Fall Creek into its next chapter with renewed vision and dedication.

History

Our history has been inspired and defined by the Texas terroir. Inspired by a trip to the major wine regions of France, Ed & Susan Auler, were among the first to see the potential for growing world-class Texas wine. They founded Fall Creek Vineyards in 1975 with a vineyard planted on the west side of Lake Buchanan.

Vineyards

Our estate vineyard was planted in 1975 with some of the first Vitis Vinifera vines in Texas. We proudly source our Texas-grown grapes from our two estate vineyards and from select vineyards. Each vineyard site has a distinct terroir which translates into our thoughtfully crafted wines. We cherish the long-term relationships we have with Texas grape growers.

Winemaking

Led by Sergio Cuadra, Director of Winemaking, and now owner, we produce benchmark wines that stand shoulder to shoulder with the notable wines of the world. With a philosophy that emphasizes stewardship of the land, our wines come from the right grape varieties selected to grow in the complex soils of each specific site. Our goal is simple; to create wines with the purest expression of their sense of place.
