Fall Creek Vineyards Press Bio

Ed and Susan Auler founded Fall Creek Vineyards in 1975, after an extensive trip to the wine regions of France. They’ve worked ardently the past 40+ years to build a viable Texas wine industry and have been called “the First Family of Texas Wine”. Susan was recognized by “Wines & Vines” magazine as one of the top 50 people in the wine world, and Ed used his legal expertise to draft many early laws to allow a viable Texas wine industry. In the mid-1980s, Andre Tchelistcheff became their initial wine consultant to Fall Creek Vineyards. Susan and Ed founded the Texas Hill Country Wine & Food Festival in 1986 to publicize the Texas Hill Country as a known wine region/appellation, and Ed’s application to the U.S. government for the Texas Hill Country appellation was granted in 1990. Most recently, FCV was recognized by The Daily Meal as one of the 101 Best Wineries in America.

SERGIO CUADRA joined Fall Creek Vineyards as Director of Winemaking and has applied his talent for unleashing the terroir to reveal the art of his small-batch, iconic Fall Creek wines since 2013. He worked previously as winemaker for the past two decades with world-renown companies, including Concha y Toro for 10 years and Caliterra (Mondavi’s partnership in Chile), with two of the most influential international wine consultants, Kym Milne MW, of Australia and Paul Hobbs of California, and, also, with Jacques Lurton from Bordeaux and John White at Fetzer, gaining a global perspective.

FALL CREEK Vineyards has two locations, open daily: FALL CREEK's Stately Texas chateau & vineyards on beautiful Lake Buchanan Tow, Texas, and FALL CREEK's Hill Country Estate with welcoming, elegant design, rock patio with waterfall pool feature & vineyards, 25 minutes from downtown Austin at Driftwood.
